Lead Pastor, Antelope Springs Church
Roseville, CA
As the spiritual leader for this church of 200 people, I led the church body in a functioning and visionary manner through spiritual instruction, leadership, and mentoring of staff and volunteer ministry leaders. I preached the Gospel, administered ordinances, watched over the membership, promoted the spiritual interests of the church, organized and developed its strength for the best possible service.

My major accomplishments: finances organized and accountability increased; online giving initiated; website redesigned three times; shift from attractional to missional focus; capitol campaign; more volunteers involved; staff hiring and adjustments; re-model of lobby, worship center and women’s restroom; clothes closet started; partnership with India missions organization, including the first short-term mission trip in over 15 years; successful launch of Celebrate Recovery ministry.

About Me
Not Your Typical Pastor
As a Chaplain in the Army National Guard, I earned the nickname, "The Irreverent Reverend." I earned this because of my ability to meet people where they were, real life, real issues, and introduce them to a real God who loved them where they were at. The soldiers were rarely on Holiness Avenue at the time of introduction.

God was at work in my life long before I knew Him. I never wanted nor expected to be a pastor. I went to seminary thinking I would get a master's degree and teach part-time until I retired from my law enforcement career, but God had other plans. The same year that I finished seminary I had an accident on duty that led to my disability retirement from law enforcement. This also led to becoming the pastor of my local church - the same church where I became a follower of Jesus Christ as a thirty-something adult. Now as then, I desire to serve God with my whole life.

Life details: I am married to Becky (30 years now!) and we have three children and two grandchildren. We also have a dog named Maximus Germanicus Sheprador.
